If I had a pound for every time someone’s asked me that, I’d have enough to buy all the cream cheese in the world! It’s a question I hear often, and honestly, it makes me smile every single time. Being recognised as The Cheesecake Lady has a lovely ring to it, doesn’t it?
It’s funny to think that my reputation for indulgent cheesecakes has started to precede me. Whether I’m at a market, chatting online, or even just out and about, conversations often start with a hesitant, “I’m sorry, I don’t know your name…” followed quickly by, “but are you The Cheesecake Lady?”
So, I thought it was about time to formally introduce myself – and share how I earned this deliciously sweet title!

Like many great things, my journey to cheesecakes didn’t start with cheesecakes at all… it started with cake!
In 2018, I took a leap of faith and established my first baking business, Danni-Ella, inspired by the warmth and creativity of growing up with my grandparents. Their ethos of making everything from scratch and using homegrown ingredients became my guiding principle in the kitchen. My Nan’s baking legacy fuelled my love for desserts – especially cheesecake, which has always been my personal favourite. Learn more about how it all began.
When Cake Became Cheesecake
By 2020, I was ready to try something new and different. That’s when The Cheesecake Club was born. I wanted to create something exciting for dessert lovers – a subscription service where members could enjoy monthly cheesecakes featuring bold and unique flavours that you wouldn’t find on a supermarket shelf.
From the very beginning, it wasn’t just about the cheesecake itself. I wanted to make sure every detail was thoughtful – from the indulgent recipes to the eco-friendly packaging. Becoming “The Cheesecake Lady”
Somewhere along the way, as my cheesecakes gained a following, I became known as The Cheesecake Lady. It started at networking events and just generally when I was out and about. People would come up and say, “I’ve heard about your cheesecakes!” or “Are you the one with the amazing cheesecakes?” or, “I’m sorry, I don’t know your name… But are you The Cheesecake Lady?”
Soon enough, my name became secondary to the title. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way! To me, being called The Cheesecake Lady is more than just a fun nickname – it’s a sign that people connect with the love and effort I pour into every cheesecake.

Fast forward to now, and I’m still as passionate about cheesecake as I was on day one. While The Cheesecake Club subscription service has come to an end, it’s because I wanted to focus on something I enjoy even more – meeting you lovely lot at markets!
I absolutely love chatting with customers, hearing your flavour favourites, and soaking up the buzz of market days. Find out where I’ll be next and come say hello! And honestly? What’s in a Name?
I’ve often joked about changing the name of my business to “The Cheesecake Lady” – it would definitely fit, wouldn’t it? And honestly, I love the nickname; it always makes me smile when I hear it.
But to me, “The Cheesecake Club” is much more fitting. My business isn’t just about me – it’s about us. The club represents the amazing community that’s grown around these indulgent treats. Without my wonderful customers, there wouldn’t be a club to speak of. Together, we’ve created something special – a place for everyone who loves fresh, unique, and delicious cheesecakes to be part of the best club around.
